Extreme windmills

Extreme windmills

This is the same picture as the one I've uploaded yesterday. But this time uncropped and heavily treated. I sorta like the result. But I guess others won't like it. Comments please.

Here is the exit point for a 9mm extreme shock through a metal gas container filled with water. It also blew the bottom of the can apart as well (see other picture).

Extreme Shock 9mm ammo results

This metal gas can filled with water was shot with an extreme shock 9mm round. It was quite a show. The round left a pretty big hole in the back and ripped apart the bottom as well.

Extreme Easter Egg, p1b

Extreme Easter Egg, p1b

Just take some electrical tape and cut it sharply with jagged edges. Then, put it across the (dry) hard-boiled egg. Electrical tape works great, as it stretches and forms to the curve of the egg, unlike clear or masking tape. And duct tape would not come off later. Now dunk it in a color. See next pic for results.

extreme cows

This is an extreme HDR experiment. I don't like the result because it's way over the top. On the other hand I do like the look of the cows.

I put my camera on the ground and took this shot. It was so dark that I couldn't see the detail or composition at all. It was manually focused. However, I really like this result. :) View Large On Black or Larger, I recommend.

Extreme Sailing Series

Extreme Sailing Series

.:From www.extremesailingseries.com/inside-the-series/view/about... :. About the Extreme Sailing Series Now in its fifth season, the award-winning and adrenaline-fueled global series has given the sport of sailing a healthy dusting-off. Bringing the action to the public with Stadium Sailing, putting guests at the heart of the battle and dramatically increasing the pace on the water, the creators of the Extreme Sailing Series™ have set new standards, both in terms of high level competition and sporting entertainment. Those magnificent men… It’s a sport, helming state-of-the-art multihulls on very demanding courses with the most respected skippers lining up to do just that, competing so fiercely that heart-stopping close encounters always feature on the menu. It’s also a spectacle, and the public has full access to the action from the shore in carefully chosen venues, combining challenging sailing conditions and spectator-friendly configurations. It’s a VIP experience, and “hot seats” are available onboard, a fifth man being able to join the four-man crew in order to get a firsthand experience and feel the excitement. Not willing to compromise, organisers OC ThirdPole have created a formula where serious competition and spectacle go hand in hand, the rapid success of the Extreme 40 series proving how well balanced the recipe is. Since 2007, the Extreme Sailing Series has become a benchmark in the sailing world, steadily growing and attracting the biggest names in the sport whilst proving to be an extremely efficient partnership opportunity in these uncertain economic times. … In their flying machines Capable of reaching speeds usually reserved to motorboats even in medium wind conditions, the Extreme 40 has been designed by Olympic champions Yves Loday and Mitch Booth, with the aim to provide the international sailing arena with a visually stunning and 100% performance-focused multihull. Flying a hull in as little as 8 knots of breeze (15 kph), the 40-foot (12m) long carbon speed machine requires coordination, finesse but also sheer muscular power from the crews who battle it out on short courses during races that do not exceed 15-20 minutes - and there can be up to 8 of them per day! Tricky wind conditions combined with the level of competition inevitably lead to some spectacular crashes, capsizes and other hair-raising near misses as the previous seasons proved! Logistically, everything is put in place so that teams can resume racing as soon as possible should an incident occur, and the professionalism of shore teams are clearly comparable to that of Formula 1 squads operating in the pit zone. A global experience After three European seasons visiting international-grade venues, the creators of the Extreme Sailing Series took the circuit towards the East, to tackle the highly promising yet challenging Asian markets and spectator crowds . OC ThirdPole, Executive Chairman, Mark Turner: “Venturing into new territories is a result of the same logic that makes us think outside the box and always try to redefine the sport of sailing.” That spirit of challenge does not only induce changes on the water, and the Extreme Sailing Series has set new standards in terms of B2B hospitality, offering a complete package, tailored to the teams and sponsors needs. A long line of great men “We have some of the best sailors in the world”, says OC Events Director Gilles Chiorri, “and to see competitors such as Loïck Peyron or Franck Cammas, who just broke the outright round the world record, come back to the circuit is the best testimonial one could think of. In the build-up to the America’s Cup, both Alinghi and BMW Oracle campaigned Extreme 40s to sharpen their multihull skills: Ed Baird won the Series with the Swiss syndicate in 2008, while last year James Spithill and his all-star crew hit the ground running and went on to capture the Cup, the ultimate trophy in our sport! Olympic medallists, legendary singlehanders, match racing champions, world record holders… I don’t think there is one sailing discipline that has not been represented on the water since the Extreme Sailing Series was created in 2007, and the best part is that new blood can always hope to achieve a good result. Of course consistency and experience pay, but with hard work anything is achievable because the game is really open on the water… We’ve had a fantastic illustration of that reality with Oman Sail’s Masirah: the boys were newcomers in 2008, and won the Series the following year, despite a line-up that had stepped up in terms of competition. Nothing was sure until the last day in Almeria, and part of the attractiveness of the circuit, for competitors and for the public alike, is that there is no clear domination by one team, anything can happen and suspense is always on the menu.” .:From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:. About Garden by the Bay Gardens by the Bay consists of three distinctive waterfront gardens – Bay South, Bay East and Bay Central, spanning a total of 101 hectares. They are set in the heart of Singapore’s new downtown Marina Bay, encircling the Marina Reservoir like a green necklace. The Gardens will complement the array of attractions around Marina Bay. Gardens by the Bay is an integral part of a strategy by the Singapore government that further transforms Singapore from a ‘Garden City’ to a ‘City in a Garden’, in which the city is woven into a green and floral tapestry. This aims to raise the quality of life in Singapore with a more holistic and all-encompassing programme that enhances greenery and flora in the city. First announced to the public by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong during the National Day Rally in August 2005, Gardens by the Bay will become Singapore’s premier urban outdoor recreation space, and a national icon. An international competition for the design of the master plan was held in January 2006 to elicit the best designs for the Gardens. This attracted more than 70 entries submitted by 170 firms from 24 countries, from which two firms – Grant Associates and Gustafson Porter – were eventually awarded the master plan design for the Bay South and Bay East Gardens respectively. The Gardens are being developed in phases. Bay South is currently being constructed and is slated to be completed by June 2012. Bay East has been developed as an interim park in support of the Youth Olympic Games 2010, and is scheduled to open to the public in late 2011 or early 2012. The full master plan implementation of Bay East and the development of Bay Central are part of the next phase of development. you can visit my website at www.on9cloud.com . Extreme Yoga Touch

How about some extreme yoga moves? For The Rouge Players Theme Day: Touch, and Theme of the Week: Extreme. I'm touching my toes---2 ways! Forgive the bad lighting and such. A quick 10 minute photo shoot after yoga, before lunch and back to work. Strrrrreeeeetchhh *Today's Random Fact & Things you may not know about me: As a little girl I used to want to be a gymnast, an aerial circus performer, dancer or anything similar. ppppphffffffff not so much now. I used to enjoy walking, dancing and goofing around on our 3+ft high fence barefoot daydreaming away. Thank god I never fell off too badly. Never a broken bone. Numerous cartwheels and handstands on hard surfaces resulted in tendentious in my wrists, aches in my lower back, and other ailments. * Created with fd's Flickr Toys.

Extreme Abstract

Recently I bought an inversion ring in order to do some closeups using the reverse lens technique. I attached my 55-250mm IS (@250mm) to the camera and, in front of this, the 50mm f/1.8, both focused to infinity. The particular here is not a crop. It's the central part of a very little flower (about 1 cm of diameter). The problem is that one has to focus manually, moving the camera back and forth. Anyway, the results are not so bad. See here, here, here and here other photos made using the same technique (but different lenses). Note: the magnification ratio is of 250mm/50mm = 5:1! ©Marco Dian 2010

Extreme BW Toss

Extreme BW Toss

Explore #383; June 10, 2008 This is the result of a camera toss. I took the original image (originally very colorful with much detail to the toss), converted it to a negative black and white, then decided to blow the contrast by pushing it to the max. To me, the end result has an interesting feel as an abstract where the main approach was black paint on white canvas. It seemed to work for me...

Extreme macro - 2 Euro coin III

Extreme macro - 2 Euro coin III

Just a test for my new toys - macro coupling rings. These are used to connect two lenses with a male filter thread on each side of the adapter. This results in the second lens being mounted in reverse, acting as a quite powerful, well corrected close up lens. To protect the rear element of the second lens, I'm using a different special adapter which even allows to use filters. I used a Tamron 90mm macro and the standard 18-55mm kit lens @ 18mm for these shots, which (as far as I understand) should result in a 5:1 magnification - basically what you get with the expensive MP-E lens. Where are the insects when you need them? :-)
